Dr Paul Meakin - Director of Business Development
Paul joined Innova Partnerships as Director of Business Development in January 2016, bringing a wealth of experience in business development, marketing and project management, gained over the last two decades of working in life sciences.
Specialising in the life science and agriculture sectors, Paul has taken medical and agricultural diagnostics manufacturing offerings to international markets with companies such as Forsite Diagnostics. Paul also has a background in technology transfer and marketing in his roles with the Home-Grown Cereals Authority and the Food and Environment Research Agency. His most recent role was with the Knowledge Transfer Network Ltd as a knowledge transfer manager, Crops and Plants.
Experienced in public sector bioscience R&D innovation, Paul has combined a PhD level research background and an MBA with over fifteen years’ of customer-facing roles in scientific fields. A graduate of Nottingham University School of Agriculture, he has achieved a BSc in agricultural plant sciences and a PhD in plant physiology. In 1997 he also went on to achieve an MBA with distinction from Westminster University, London.
Outside work, Paul has a strong interest in a range of sports and is actively engaged in the business planning and commercial future of the sports association in the Wiltshire town where he lives.
