Innova Partnerships Appointed by Invest Northern Ireland to Support Irish Company Growth

Jun 01, 2018

Innova Partnerships is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by Invest Northern Ireland to support the growth of exports to the rest of the UK by life and health science companies across the region for a three-year period.

Invest Northern Ireland is the economic development agency for Northern Ireland. They help businesses compete successfully in international markets through a variety of support mechanisms. During 2016/17, over £200m was invested in R&D and wider innovation and created an additional 5,900 new jobs.

Commenting, Innova Partnerships’ Chief Operating Officer, Joanne Hagerty said, “We are delighted to have the chance to mirror the success we have had in Scotland in Northern Ireland. Earlier this year the Northern Ireland Assembly committed to a 12.5% corporation tax rate from April 2018. We believe this will help us drive the success of high growth life science businesses across the region and there are a range of opportunities poised to enter and grow their presence in the rest of the UK .”

The appointment by Innova to support life science companies in Northern Ireland follows Innova’s seven-year support of Scottish companies working with Scottish Enterprise. During this period Innova supported over 40 Scottish high growth companies, leading to investment of in excess of £50m and M&A deals in Scotland in the life science sector.
