Innova Partnerships is pleased to announce that its latest portfolio company, Vitamica Ltd, is a spin out from the University of Bristol.
The Company has been formed to commercialise the ground-breaking work of Dr Massimo Antognozzi, from the Department of Physics, who has used optical analysis of live bacteria to measure changes in their response to antibiotics. The technique has demonstrated a fast and accurate technique that can be used to assess antimicrobial resistance of bacteria. This will open up applications for personalised medicine and should help stem the over use of antibiotics.

Scottish based Biotangents Ltd are developing timely diagnostics to improve livestock welfare. Recently, the Company closed an equity financing round of £326,000 that will be used to progress their pen-side infectious disease test. The investment came from Kelvin Capital members and was supported by Innova Partnerships.
